  1. Andalucia Self-Guided Bike Tour
    By Gary N 05/04/2024
What an amazing and EPIC self-guided journey across Andalucia I enjoyed with Cycling Mountains (CM) over the course of eight days in March 2024! Juan and I connected by Zoom some months before my trip to design the itinerary and activities to make my 60th birthday both a memorable adventure and milestone celebration. Everything was absolutely top-notch and perfectly calibrated, including the daily routes (including Garmin courses), hire bike/ gear, hotels, meals (i.e., dining experiences), Jerez sherry tasting, Ronda walking tour and logistical support for my transportation and bags. The final day’s ride into Granada was pure joy and thoroughly exhilarating, putting 71 miles (114 km) with about 5,988 ft (1,825 m) elevation gain under my belt. Juan is a pleasure to work with, extremely knowledgable, enthusiastic, bilingual, flexible, responsive, trustworthy, and a highly communicative and reliable partner in organizing this kind of complex journey. We met up for dinner and a debrief at trip’s end, and I even had the distinct pleasure of meeting his wife to share tapas and Granadino artisanal beer. I’ve traveled with several larger cycling outfits in the US, Europe, Asia and South America over the years, and Juan/ Cycling Mountains delivers a world-class, professional and customized experience that greatly exceeded my expectations. I found my way to them by conducting an online search for local companies running trips in southern Spain, followed by email correspondence and real-time conversation. Andalucia in March is perfect in terms of climate (very similar to SoCal, where I live) and travel logistics. The scenery is gorgeous, cities fascinating, rides challenging and fun, temperature delightful, infrastructure well-maintained and food abundant and delicious. I highly recommend Cycling Mountains for an unforgettable cycling adventure whose memories will definitely last a lifetime! Qué disfruten un montón!
    Date of Experience: March, 2024
