Day to day

Kick off your Alpine adventure with a scenic warm-up along the stunning Annecy Lake, setting the stage for your first climb of the day: the Col de la Forclaz, a 7.1km ascent with a 7% gradient, categorized as Cat2. Savor panoramic lake views at the summit before descending into the Albertville Valley. Your journey continues in Ugine, where a picturesque yet moderate climb awaits, leading to the south face of the Col des Aravis (11.7km – 4.9% – Cat2). A frequent feature in the Tour de France, this climb is a highlight of the renowned “Route des Grandes Alpes.” Cap the day with one of the Alps’ most captivating descents, arriving at La Clusaz, your base for conquering additional cols in the coming days.

Today, brace yourself for a triple challenge featuring iconic Tour de France climbs. Kick off with a descent into Le Grand-Bornand before scaling the north side of Col de la Colombière (11.6 km – 6.6% – Cat 1). Then, tackle the formidable Plateau de Glières (8.8 km – 8.2% – Cat 1), pausing at the summit to admire panoramic views. A technical descent lands you in Thônes, famed for its Reblochon cheese. Here, catch your breath before the final ascent: Col de la Croix Fry (11 km – 7.2% – HC), offering vistas that make the challenge worthwhile. Refuel at a summit restaurant before a thrilling descent to La Clusaz. Round off your day relaxing at the hotel pool or exploring the scenic Les Confins, set amid the Les Aravis mountains.

Kick off your day conquering the north side of Col des Aravis, a 7km climb with a 6.2% gradient (Cat 2). Upon reaching the summit, feast your eyes on unparalleled views of Mont Blanc. Then, continue through a technical descent to Flumet, where awe-inspiring scenery awaits. The next leg offers a chance to spin and recharge before tackling the trip’s final challenges: the formidable Col de Romme (8.6km at 9.1%, Cat 1) followed by the even steeper south side of Col de la Colombière (7.2km at 8.5%, Cat 2). Reward yourself with a well-earned snack at the summit before your exhilarating final descent to La Clusaz. Make the most of your last evening in the village, discovering another local culinary gem and capping the night with a traditional Génépi. Santé!
